The cattle competitions at the Dungog Show are some of the oldest competitions held at the Showground. They recognise the best of the best and reward the achievements of cattle breeders. The quality of animals is always high and competition is exciting.
Cattle are placed in their class with the judges taking into account all the strengths and weaknesses of each animal. Their choice should be based on sound reasoning and the judge explains their reasoning when awarding prizes.
Visit the cattle shed between 9.00am to 6.00pm daily, to talk with the breeder, fitters and handlers.
Start time: 2.00pm
All competitors and exhibitors are invited to participate in the Grand Parade. To encourage participation, a ticket for a lucky prize will be issued to each exhibitor as they enter the ring for the Grand Parade.
The Show aims to run to time, but as people and animals are involved we may not be able to be on time all the time. Please be patient and we’ll get the events on as soon as possible. In some cases the Show Society may need to adjust start times and we will let you know as soon as we are able.
